Are you feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or as though you aren’t getting as much out of life as you’d like to? Therapy can help to ease stress and open up new possibilities. I provide a welcoming, nonjudgmental space where together we will seek to understand the difficulties you are experiencing and explore opportunities for change. I will guide you to recognize your existing strengths and capacities as well as provide new ways to think about your experience, take meaningful action, and relate authentically to others.

I am a licensed clinical psychologist (PSY 23603) in San Francisco, California, with 19 years of experience in providing individual psychotherapy. I use cognitive-behavioral, mindfulness-based, and relational approaches to help my clients find greater fulfillment in their relationships, careers, or creative endeavors. I often work with individuals in professions such as law, medicine, and engineering, and understand the pressure that can accompany high responsibility. I enjoy working with artists, musicians, and writers, for whom creative expression is an integral part of emotional health. My other specialties include coping with medical illness or chronic health conditions, navigating the challenges of caregiving for others, and managing anxiety, stress, and depression. I offer Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) to assist clients in processing trauma, especially relational, sexual, and health-related trauma. My clientele is diverse and I welcome adults of all ages, cultural backgrounds, gender identities, and sexual orientations.

People often ask, how long will therapy take? As with so many things, the most honest answer is, it depends. I work with people for shorter courses of therapy (12-20 sessions) as well as longer courses, depending on their needs and goals for treatment. As we begin our work together, I will share my thoughts on what may be most beneficial for you.

If you’d like to learn more about my approach to therapy and explore the possibility of working together, please reach out to me at 415-484-9473 or rebecca@rebeccacrabbphd.com to arrange a brief phone consultation.

Congratulations to my two former psychological associates, Dr. Brooke Adams and Dr. Elizabeth Choi, who as of Spring 2023 are both now fully licensed and practicing independently.
