Welcome to my practice!

I am a licensed psychologist located in San Francisco, with 19 years of experience helping individuals at various stages in adult life overcome challenges and live a more fulfilling and empowered life. For me, being a therapist is more than a career - it’s a calling. I am honored to accompany people in their personal work, as they seek deeper understanding and fulfillment. I listen actively, with warmth and respect, and provide guidance and treatment that is tailored to each person’s needs, goals, and values.

Here’s a little more about me.

I grew up in Western Canada and lived in the United Kingdom and Eastern Canada before settling in the beautiful Bay Area. I completed my PhD in clinical psychology at the University of Ottawa, Canada, followed by postdoctoral research and clinical fellowships at the University of California, San Francisco and the Veterans Health Administration in Palo Alto, California. My research interests focused on enhancing access to mental health services in underserved populations, especially older adults, and in developing innovative ways to reach and treat these populations. Here is a link to a paper I co-authored on treating depression among rural older adults, published March 2022 in the American Journal of Geriatric Psychiatry: https://www.sciencedirect.com/science/article/pii/S1064748122003505#:~:text=Results,0001

My private practice is located in the Pacific Heights neighborhood of San Francisco and I offer psychotherapy both in person and via teletherapy, helping individuals with anxiety, depression, trauma, and adjustment and transition issues. I am certified in EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing) treatment via EMDRIA and am a Consultant in Training for clinicians seeking certification in EMDR. I am also a certified Problem Solving Treatment (PST) trainer and offer consultation on the implementation of PST and other behaviorally-based treatments for depression in collaboration with the National Network of PST Clinicians, Trainers, and Researchers.
